Veterinary Surgeon

Small animal Veterinary surgeon required to join growing independent practice’s friendly 3 Vet team. No out-of-hours. Full or part-time applicants and consulting only roles considered.

About Us

We are an independent small animal practice in the heart of a thriving community in Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley. We opened in June 2023 and due to growth, we are now looking for another Vet to join us. We have a small friendly team currently consisting of 3 Vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 2 animal care assistants and 4 client care advisors. We are passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners; and also giving our team a supportive working environment with a healthy work life balance. Our purpose-built facilities include 4 consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, imaging suite, dental theatre and separate dog and cat wards. We have DR x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and Idexx in house blood and urine machines. We are also very proud to be an RVN training practice with a 1^st and a 2^nd year student currently training with us. We are currently going through assessment process for the RCVS Practice standards scheme General Practice accreditation. Situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Whalley and pretty market town of Clitheroe in Lancashire. We are a rural setting with easy motorway access to be in Manchester, Liverpool or The Lake District within an hour.

The Role

The role involves consulting and operating, but we would consider a consulting only role if desired. The successful candidate would work their hours between 8.30am-7pm weekdays and 1 in 4 Saturdays 8.30am-12.30pm. There are no out-of-hours involved in the role as our out-of-hours provisions are provided by another practice.

Successful Candidate

Will be committed to providing a high level of care to their patients and owners, working as a team, developing their skills and having a few laughs along the way. Communication skills are essential and the ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic. We would consider someone who wants to do a consulting only role, or part time. We would also consider recent graduates who may need support to develop as our current vet team has over 40 years combined experience including a VetGDP advisor and certificate holders in surgery and ophthalmology.

The Package

• Salary from £40,000 to £70,000 depending on experience
• 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays pro rata
