As a Kin RVN, you will be joining a community of passionate professionals, committed to caring for the pets of the communities we serve. We are looking for an RVN to join the team at Swayne & Partners Newmarket clinic, on a 12 month FTC to cover maternity, working 40 hours per week, plus 1:4 - 1:6 weekend rota at our 24 hour Hospital in Bury St. Edmunds.

About our practice:
Swayne and Partners is a long standing multi-site veterinary practice in West Suffolk, offering an emergency service located within a purpose built facility in Bury St Edmunds.
The facilities include a large variety of blood testing and lab equipment including iSTAT, digital radiography, high quality ultrasound, multi-parameter monitoring, ECG, ventilator and a CT scanner. The current team consists of a total of 12 Vets, including certificate holders in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, cardiology, imaging, medicine and emergency and critical care. They work alongside a large team of registered veterinary nurses, student nurses and animal nursing assistants.
Swayne and Partners 24 hour Hospital provides an emergency service for 18 practices in the area of West Suffolk.
Responsibilities:
- 8 or 10 hours shifts.
- Support the Veterinary Surgeon with consults as necessary.
- Record all owner contact to ensure the best continued care for the patients in and out of the practice both within Swayne and Partners and at the primary care practices.
- Care for inpatients throughout the day actively, adjusting treatments and carrying out diagnostics and procedures as necessary, charging accordingly.
- Confirm plans for the night team by writing patient kennel sheets and adjusting medications accordingly.
- Contact inpatient owners as necessary to update them on their animals progress and plan.
- Support with providing a handover to the night inpatient vet as and when required.
Skills & Experience:
- RCVS registration number
- Relevant nursing experience within a veterinary practice
- Strong communication skills
- Can demonstrate ability to work in a team
- Resilience
