We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join us at Towerwood Vets in Cookridge, West Yorkshire. You will have access to a varied caseload including a mix of consults and surgery, which can be weighted to your preferences. We’re a practice that prioritises our people by placing an emphasis on careful diary management, a flexible rota and a strong focus on communication, wellbeing and teamwork.

Work life balance that works for you

Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. There is no out of hours with this role; the ideal candidate would take a share in the weekend rota which is currently 1 in 6 (9-6 Saturday, 9-12 Sunday). A full time role would involve working 40 hours per week. We're happy to support part time applications as well.

Our team is composed of 7 full time Vets, 10 strong RVN team, 3 ACAs and 4 SVNs. The clinical team is complimented by a Practice Manager as well as a dedicated reception team. Our team boasts a wide range of expertise, we have a certificate holder in imaging, as well as our Clinical Director who is a member of the faculty of Homeopathy. We have away workshop days annually and have covered topics such as wellbeing, mindfulness, and communication, plus have a wellbeing coach available to our team. Our Clinical Director is passionate about wellbeing in the workplace as well as personal and professional development. You will receive regular one to one time with him to enable adequate time to reflect on your progress and ensure that you are on the right development pathway. CPD is encouraged and our team often go en masse to conferences to combine CPD with team bonding! Certificates can be funded for the right candidate.

Company

Our branches offer the same first-class services with all of our vets and nurses working between each of our branches, offering passionate and dedicated care to every animal they see.

Our Cookridge clinic is based in LS16 in North Leeds, not far from Leeds Bradford Airport. We would consider this our main practice as we are able to offer our full range of both consultation and surgical services from this site, as well as comprehensive in-patient care when required. The site has been in operation as a veterinary practice since 1970, with our current Clinical Director Brendan Clarke taking over the running of the practice in 1996. You can find out more about our Cookridge facilities and the services we can provide here.

Our Greengates clinic is based in BD10 on the North East outskirts of Bradford. Our practice here opened in 2008 on the New Line commercial estate, which allowed us to offer good parking and disabled access facilities for our clinic. Whilst smaller than our main site at Cookridge, we are able to offer the same consultation and surgical facilities, just on a smaller scale.

We are able to offer both our complementary services and conventional veterinary medicine services from both of our practices, so it really is up to you which practice you may prefer to attend.
