Job Details

The Opportunity:

Full time Vet Surgeon 4 days per week with a fair share of weekends which can be open for discussion to join the team at Medivet Basingstoke. 

Run by experienced Branch Partner Tjitske  who has an abundance of experience and has been running the practice for a couple of years now, close knit team who work extremely well together with a loyal client base with the majority having pet insurance to allow continuity of care.

Our spacious practice has a reception area with a separate dog and cat waiting area, two good sized consulting rooms, a large prep area with 2 large walk-in kennels and separate dog and cat kennel space. The practice is accredited cat and dog friendly.

Our fully equipped clinic also has a digital x-ray in an imaging room and a large theatre. The branch also has a large first floor which includes an office, staff room, storage and space for future expansion. On the first floor the practice regularly hold puppy classes a couple of times a week with a behaviourist.

Part of the Chineham Centre, it has a strong local catchment with an excellent mix of tenants including Tesco, M+S Food and Boots, together with an abundance of free parking close to the practice making it accessible and convenient for customers and patients alike. With a lovely walking area close by. Our clients also have an offer to get 10% off at the local coffee shop while waiting for their pets.

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  • Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
