The Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Veterinary Nurse to join us for a 12 month maternity cover role at our Worthing branch, set in a stunning seaside location and next the South Downs National Park! We're an ideal location for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, water sports, dog walking, not to mention the beauty of nearby Arundel and the local High Down vineyard.

We have an established team of 4 veterinary surgeons with certificates in small animal surgery, dentistry with 1 vet working towards a certificate in ophthalmology and another with a keen interest in diagnostic imaging. Our vets are supporting a 4 full time nurses and 1 part-time head nurse plus 2 second year student nurses and our friendly front of house team. Our nurses undertake consults and laser therapy too!

Our beautiful practice has a friendly client base who appreciate the personal service we provide and sits within a network of local Medivet practices. boast 2 spacious and light consult rooms, a modern theatre and offer services in laparoscopy, dental x-ray, ultrasound, digital x-ray, a blood machine and a full lab.

This opportunity would suit either an experienced veterinary nurse or someone who is looking to learn and develop with our highly skilled team.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
• Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
• Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience:

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
