Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to work within our well-established 24 hour Hospital based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Your average day will include a variety of nursing duties as well as assisting with clinical coaching within the practice. Full support will be provided as you will work closely within our experienced team.

The ideal candidate will share our passion for delivering outstanding client and patient care, and will enjoy working in a supportive and friendly environment. You will require a friendly and positive attitude and a desire to progress and expand your knowledge and skills further.

Strong mentorship and support will be available to help you develop your career and get the most satisfaction from your job. You will be free to devote all of your time to looking after your clients and patients.

We have diagnositc equipment at the hospital including multi parameter, CT scanner, endoscope and a laparoscopic kit.

Full time working hours are 40 hours a week which includes a fair share of weekend shifts, bank holiday and on call.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
