Job Details
At Bromsgrove Vets for Pets, we are proud of our RCVS Practice Standards accreditation and Silver accredited ISFM cat friendly status, but we are also proud of our culture and ethos.
Growing all the time and seeing a variety of interesting surgical and medical cases and a high percentage of insured clients, we are now looking for a graduate to join our existing team of 4 vets, 4 RVNs, 1 student and 3 receptionists.
Owner and veterinary surgeon Lois Wakelin qualified from Liverpool in 2012, working in rural Worcestershire treating all animals great and small, before going on to open her own small animal GP practice Bromsgrove Vets for Pets in 2015.
As well as being supported by Lois you'll also be joining a team of 4 vets, with a wide range of clinical interests. Lois and our team of vets are then also supported by a very experienced nursing team, who are all equipped to support you in this very exciting time of your career.
Joining one of our network of UK practices, you’ll train on the job with experienced Veterinary Partners and Practice Owners, at a pace that works for you. We’ll find you a role that suits you, in terms of location and culture fit. And, with Vets for Pets and Companion Care practices of all shapes and sizes across the country, there’s a perfect place for everyone!
With our support, and emphasis on your wellbeing, you can realise and maintain your full potential in an environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance too.
You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated Vet GDP Advisor, as well as the graduate and clinical teams, and online by 1,300+ vets within our clinical community.
You’ll also be able to take paid leave to attend the tailored CPD events we hold. The high-quality events we deliver as part of the programme usually comprise subjects such as practical dentistry, practical surgery, radiography, dermatology, cardiology, and more.
As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You will have a phased approach to sole charge and better still, when you’ve finished the programme there’s a career waiting for you, either with the practice you trained at or within our wider community/network.
As standard we offer all the benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships, life insurance, competitive salary etc.) plus a few more!
• 2-year programme, no financial/contractual tie-ins
• Starting salary of 36K, with reviews after each year on Programme
• Professional memberships paid - practice dependent
• Exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts with up to 30% off at Pets at Home, Pet Plan insurance discount, cycle to work scheme and more
• Approximately 10 paid CPD days (clinical & non-clinical) per year
• Dedicated Vet GDP Advisor in practice and access to wellbeing support
• Fully funded London Vet Show tickets during the 2nd year on programme
• Access to our clinical academy for further development after programme completion
• Relocation and immigration support for overseas candidates - relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if wanted (we’re an A+ rated sponsor) - practice dependent
Pets just see people. Just like pets, we embrace everyone’s differences. We work to break down barriers, attract and develop diverse talent, and create a culture that allows everyone to be the best they can be.
