Mobile Veterinary Surgeon

We’re looking for an experienced vet to join our fully mobile, consults only practice in the North East of England. Full and Part-time applications considered.

Doorstep Vet Is a fully mobile practice servicing Newcastle upon Tyne and the surrounding area. We’re on a mission to reduce the stress and inconvenience associated with taking pets to the vets, by bringing the consulting room to them.

Our van has been specially converted to create  a modern, fully-equipped consulting room that would rival that of any standard practice. We have the support of a large practice group in Newcastle for anything urgent or out-of-hours. Contextualised care forms a huge part of our ethos. Our service is highly personal, very professional and tailored to each client and their pet.

We started turning our wheels in 2022 and have grown rapidly - our shiny new second van is arriving soon, providing a unique opportunity for a vet to join our team.

The practice is independently vet owned and supported by a small, highly experienced team, based at our office next to Newcastle Airport. This is also where the van departs from every day.

The Role

• Consults only – no operations
• 100% mobile with back up of large practice group locally
• Dedicated team of office support staff
• Modern, fully equipped consulting room – probably nicer than anything you’ve worked in before!
• Average 30 minute consultations, with appointments between 8:30am and 5pm Monday to Friday
• Stylish office based in Prestwick Business Park near Newcastle airport
• Working in the van as part of a two person team (usually an RVN)
• Small, friendly and experienced team
• Independent and vet-owned

The Package

• Up to £65,000* per annum depending on experience *pro rata for part-time hours
• 6.6 weeks holiday* inclusive of bank holidays
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends, no OOH and no bank holidays
