Find a supportive team and a world of opportunity at Moy Vets!

Are you looking to progress, follow your interests and develop your skills with the support of a friendly, experienced team? Come and join us at Moy Vets! You'll be part of a team who have an established culture of support, where we value feedback and open communication in our dedicated weekly meeting time. We understand the importance of work-life balance, which is why we offer flexible rota patterns and working hours that adapt to your lifestyle at any stage of your career. Our standard 20-minute consults allow for excellent client communication and thorough workups. Additionally, we provide a rotating or set day off per week, tailored to your preferences. We work the weekends on a rota basis to provide continuity of care for our clients by providing our own OOH service from our purpose built facilities.

We are situated in the beautiful Lancashire county, just an hour away from The Lakes District, Yorkshire Dales and short drive to the AONB Trough of Bowland. Just over an hour to Manchester and Liverpool, and we have beaches on our doorstep. Plenty to do and a choice of rural or urban living. Accommodation can be provided if needed as well.

A typical full-time role would involve working a 4 day week, however, we are equipped to consider any flexible working pattern you might want, but are looking for someone willing to work a share of our OOH's rota. You will always be accompanied by a nurse when on call, and paid a call out fee for each call in addition to your salary. For example, one of our vet team members works a 2 week on, 2 week off pattern, others have a set day off a week for childcare reasons. Weekday shifts are typically 8:30am-7:00pm, Saturdays are 8:30am-12:30pm, Sundays are 11:00am-12:00pm, along with the OOHs rota.

To excel in this role, you'll need prior experience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. We are keen to hear from vets with an interest in orthopaedics, dermatology, or ophthalmology, as we'd love to grow these services further, however it's not essential. We encourage development across all of our team, so Certificates and other CPD are actively supported. One of our team recently completed a certificate in Medicine, and one is about to start a Surgical Certificate. We provide a supportive environment to help you thrive and grow alongside our passionate team.

Excellent equipment for excellent care

At Moy Vets, you'll be part of a well-established practice with a friendly and multicultural team. Our modern facilities include digital radiography, dental radiography and dental suite, multiple surgical theatres, Idexx laboratory equipment, ultrasound, endoscopy, a K-laser and various multi-parameter monitoring equipment. We also welcome visiting specialists to enhance our expertise.

Meet like-minded professionals

We are expanding our team, and hope you will be joining our multi-cultural, supportive team. We have 9 vets, coming from the UK, Scotland, Italy, Romania, Latvia, Croatia and The Netherlands. We have an Advanced Practitioner Certificate holder, someone undertaking a Surgery Certificate, and 2 vets that perform Acupuncture. We have 2 VetGDP advisors in our clinic, so can support any recent graduates with this. We are a registered Nurse training practice and regularly host EMS students.

We have 13 RVNs, 2 SVNs and 3 VCA's. Our reception and admin support team consists of 20 people. We support local charities through various initiatives, like food collections for our local charities.

Company

Moy Vets began in 1992 when husband and wife Vets, Mark and Michelle Lingard moved from Australia and built Moy Farm Veterinary Centre on the site of a sheep shed and stables in Out Rawcliffe. With hard work and love the practice grew and then followed the purchase of the Animal Medical Centre in Thornton, the opening of a small branch surgery in Knott End On Sea and the opening of a small branch in Hambleton.

The first 19 years for Moy Vets was as a truly mixed veterinary practice, treating small animals, equine and farm animals. Mark’s illness and death in 2010/2011 led to the sale of the large animal section of the practice. In Mark’s memory the second phase of Moy Vets began as a dedicated small animal clinic. Moy Vets will now continue to provide the same quality, love and care for your pets that you have been used to right from the start.
Here’s to the next 20 years looking after your pets!!!

A caring, dedicated team he people at Moy Vets are our greatest asset. Although the facilities, equipment and availability of veterinary attention are important, it is our team that makes us so special.

All team members are encouraged to take part in further training and continuing professional development, and everybody has an important part to play in the smooth running of the practice.

The vets might be the people who treat or operate on your pet but they could not function without the expert assistance of the nurses; and of course our receptionists are there to make appointments and answer telephone enquiries, and our office staff to keep everything running smoothly.

All of our team are here to help to provide high quality care for you and your pet.
