Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to £5,000

Paws Veterinary Centre are recruiting for an enthusiastic small animal Veterinary Surgeon, who is confident with both consultations and routine surgery, to join their team on a permanent basis. We perform surgeries and dentals every week day and this role can be tailored to a surgery or consulting bias depending on the individual preference of the candidate.

Our ideal candidate would be a positive person who works well as part of a small team. This could be someone who is happy in general practice or someone with aspirations of further education. They must be RCVS registered and confident when faced with emergency cases.

We care about work/life balance

We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life. We can offer flexibility that actually works for you.

The ideal candidate will work two full days (8:30am - 6.:30pm) of their choice, with the option of an additional part day if they wish. There will also be a 1 in 3 Saturday morning involved on a rota from 8:30am-12:30pm. We use Vets Now for our out of hours, so there is no out of hours or bank holiday shifts.

About Paws Veterinary Centre

Paws is a small and friendly first opinion practice based in Colchester. The practice is located very close to the town centre and just a short drive to Mersea Island. We are a kind and caring team who pride ourselves on excellent patient care. We work very well as a team and support each other where needed.

We have everything we need to be an independent first opinion practice and will always consider investment in new equipment and further education to support future development of our staff and business.

Meet our amazing team

We currently have 2 Veterinary Surgeons and are recruiting for a third. One of our Vets is recently qualified and the other is experienced and soon to complete her certificate in ophthalmology.

We also have 4 experienced qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses and 3 Receptionists.

There are local certificate holders in orthopaedics, cardiology and medicine who visit us for individual patients when required. This enables us to keep a lot of our more complex cases in house.

Company

Paws Colchester Veterinary Centre welcomes all pets and their owners. We are a small family run business, and are therefore able to offer truly personal care to all of our patients and clients. Maryanne, Aimee and our other highly qualified team are passionate about our patient's welfare and health. As we are a small team you are able to see the same member of staff at each visit if you choose.

We understand that coming to the Vets can be a stressful time for some owners and pets so we aim to be as gentle and kind at all times with your loved ones. Feliway and Adaptil diffusers are used in the practice which release pheromones to relax your pets and we have Feliway covers available in reception to cover our cats in baskets that may be anxious. There are lots of treats to make your loved ones feel welcome!

Our practice is fully equipped so pets do not have to be transported for procedures. We have air conditioned facilities and free onsite parking. If you are interested we have Welcome packs, Kitten packs, Puppy packs, VIP Health club information and Online Registration forms.
