Job Details

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Dermatology Diplomate, board-eligible Diplomate, or AVP to join our friendly team at The Dermatology Referral Service in Glasgow. We seek a clinician to join us, support, and mentor junior clinicians, and build your own referral caseload within the practice.

We highly value our clinicians and their dedication to achieving their qualifications. By joining The Dermatology Referral Service, you will become part of a dedicated, hard-working team passionate about providing the highest standards of care to our patients. We prioritise staff well-being and strive to support a good work-life balance.

Our clinic offers state-of-the-art equipment, including Storz video-otoscopy, intradermal skin testing, and an Aesculight CO2 laser.

Experience State-of-the-Art Facilities

The Dermatology Referral Service is a dedicated, 100% dermatology referral practice based in Glasgow, serving Scotland and Northern England with a team of four veterinarians. This busy, standalone clinic operates in a dedicated setting and is supported by an excellent team of trained RVNs and support staff. While the practice is owned by IVC Evidensia, it operates autonomously at the local level.

We maintain close ties with Glasgow University, providing dermatology course content to their veterinary students. Additionally, our service actively participates in resident training for the ECVD Diploma, engaging in regular Journal Club meetings and clinical research.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of dermatological conditions in animals. Applicants should be board-certified (or eligible for certification) by the ECVD or ACVD (or equivalent). Eligibility for RCVS membership is required, and candidates with relevant certification will also be considered.

Company

The Dermatology Referral Service is a veterinary practice based in Glasgow with a branch in Aberdeen that is solely dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of skin and ear disease in pets and other animal species. The practice is staffed by Peter Forsythe and Hilary Jackson, recognised specialists in the field of Veterinary Dermatology who between them have over 40 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of all types of skin and ear disease.

Your first port of call if your pet has a skin or ear problem is your own vet. Many skin diseases are straightforward to diagnose and treat but others are more complex or long standing, In such cases, your veterinary surgeon may recommend a referral to a specialist practice such as ourselves for more detailed investigation and a full discussion of treatment options.

Please note that we are a referral practice which means that we can only see your pet following referral from your veterinary surgeon. Within these web pages you can find information on our service but please give us a call if you wish to discuss any aspect of what we do.

  • Practice staffed by recognised specialists in veterinary dermatology
  • Full range of facilities for the investigation and treatment of skin, ear and nail disease
  • Video-otoscopy
  • Intradermal testing and immunotherapy
  • Excellent motorway access
