Career progression in a great location, great team and great support with a salary up to £60000 AND a career on the coast! Plymouth Vets for Pets have an unmissable opportunity for an ambitious vet to join our friendly team in our well-established and busy practice.
About us
Our practice is run by our Clinical Lead Vet Kendall who graduated from the RVC in 2015 and is working towards a certificate in Emergency and critical care, as well as Katie and Nikki our Head Nurse and Clinical Coach, and they are supported by a fantastic team all committed to delivering an outstanding level of service in the heart of our community. We can offer a fantastic location to work, as well as a spacious practice boasting some state-of-the-art equipment and plenty of onsite parking.
About you
Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for a confident vet with a broad range of GP skills, someone comfortable in sole charge and a great communicator and team player. A people person as well as an animal person, you’ll have the opportunity to work with an exceptionally welcoming team dedicated to providing excellent veterinary care.
What you’ll do
With a varied caseload your days will involve anything from routine health consults to complex medical cases and surgery, with plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills. Days are busy but they are also well structured with consults given 15 minutes as standard, and time for breaks, admin and lunch all factored into your day.
Flexibility
We offer flexible hours, and you can choose to join us on a full or part-time basis depending on your needs and preferences. This role will ideally cover a minimum of 30 hours a week, preferably including 1 in 3 Saturdays but with no OOH! If you’re looking for something a bit different, we do encourage you to get in touch as finding the right person is what’s important to us.
What we’re offering:
And there’s more!
A relocation package including costs towards accommodation is also available to the right candidate. So, there’s no barrier to taking up this great opportunity and making the most of life in or near the lively maritime city of Plymouth, with its famous gin distillery, shops and theatres and within easy reach of the some of the UK’s finest beaches and national parks.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
