Are you looking for an island adventure?

All Pets Veterinary Centre is a dedicated small animal practice nestled in the heart of St Peter’s village, Jersey. We are independently owned, and although small in both size and species, we are big on the value of our team and our ethos of personalised and compassionate care of our patients and their owners.

Ruth and I (Emily) took over the practice together in 2019. We both dreamed of building a place where we'd genuinely love coming to work every day. We are passionate about the profession and care about our team. We aim to create a working environment that reminds people why they chose veterinary in the first place. We also want you to get out the door on time each day so you can enjoy your quality time outside of work!

“There’s nowhere else I can imagine working. All Pets have been a part of my life for nearly ten years! The business is a family, and you can’t help but feel like an extension of them. They are always striving for a better work-life balance, which is imperative to help you do your best work.” Laura, Head Nurse

“Working at All Pets is, quite honestly, the dream! Before joining in early 2021, I had worked as a Veterinary Nurse for 23 years and was feeling a little tired and overwhelmed by the industry. At All Pets, it was immediately clear that the directors are two of the loveliest and most respectful people who have empathy and compassion in bucket loads. They go over and above to ensure you are looked after and really do care. It doesn't matter if you are a patient, client or staff member. That daily dread of going to work has gone, and I couldn't wish to be part of a better and more supportive team.” Amanda,  Practice Manager

All Pets Veterinary Centre

We really do have a wonderful, close-knit team, and we prioritise finding someone who fits our team and shares our values. We are ideally looking for a vet with some experience. As long as you are comfortable with routine procedures, we can fully support your career progression. If you want to pursue a certificate or explore your interests, we will do all we can to help. We are more than willing to invest in the right equipment to develop our services in any area a team member is passionate about. If you have a surgical bias, you’ll love our brand-new surgical equipment, including the TPLO kit. There is also the scope to build up the soft tissue and orthopaedic caseload.

I graduated from Liverpool in 2011, and there's no denying it – I'm a total Crazy Cat Lady! After returning to the island in 2017, I completed my Advanced Feline Behaviour qualification in 2022, and next on my list is tackling the ANZCVS Medicine of Cats qualification. Beyond my love of cats, I also have a passion for small animal dentistry, and I’m proud of the high standards of dental and feline care we provide here.

After graduating in 2008 from the RVC, Ruth worked predominantly in Jersey before we joined forces to take on the adventure of All Pets. Ruth has a keen interest in small animal internal medicine, especially endocrinology, diagnostic imaging and emergency critical care and has an Advanced Certificate in Internal Medicine. She also spent time travelling in Asia, South America, Canada and New Zealand, including working at a referral hospital in Sydney.

Georgia joined us last year and was an instant hit with the team and clients. She soon settled into island life, and Jersey is the perfect place for her to continue training for an Ironman Triathlon. Georgia is passionate about diagnostic imaging and will complete her certificate in this field this year.

“I joined All Pets six months ago and made the move to sunny Jersey from rainy Wales. After initially finding lots of quirks to Jersey life, I have really found my feet. I love the outdoorsy and coastal activities available all around me and have had a fantastic time exploring with my dog. My favourite part of working here is definitely the fantastic and supportive team. They have really made me feel at home and fully backed me in following my interests in the field.” Georgia MRCVS

All Pets Veterinary Centre

We are supported by our fantastic nursing team of 6 RVNs, 1 SVN and a VCA, and our amazing support team of 3 receptionists and 2 office administrators. The community feel that island life brings is never more noticeable than when our clients pop in for a chat or invite us around for coffee. When one of our lovely clients heard we were looking for a vet, she even offered to head off to vet school so she could help!!

“I started at All Pets in 2012 as a VCA, and they put me through training to become an RVN. The support from the vets and other RVNs was incredible, and someone was always willing to take the time to answer any questions or explain something. All Pets is my second family, and there is nowhere else I'd rather be. The team are so friendly, caring and passionate. The directors really care about their employees' wellness, ensuring everyone is happy in their role. To top it off, we have monthly pizza days and are treated to a yearly summer and Christmas party. I couldn't be happier at All Pets.” Alicia RVN

“I have worked at All Pets for six years as a bookkeeper and office manager and have loved every minute. All Pets is more like a family than a workplace, with a tight-knit team where everyone is valued, trusted and respected, whatever their role. It is a very supportive working environment where you feel like someone always has your back, and self-development is encouraged. The directors have strong values with a focus on high standard care for our clients (who are lovely), as well as an emphasis on staff wellbeing and ensuring everyone has a good work-life balance.  We have some great times together out of work, too!” Caroline

When we make changes, it's very much a team decision. These are discussed at our monthly Health on the Twelfth meetings when we block out the diary for the day so we can all get together to share ideas over pizza. We really value everyone’s opinion, and everyone gets to have a say in our ongoing development and how to drive the practice forward.

We have all the equipment you would expect from a smaller practice that aims to offer the highest standards of care, including Sonoscape ultrasound with linear probes and Doppler, a brand new video endoscope, digital and dental x-ray, multiparameter monitors, a slit lamp and tonometry. We also have access to CT and MRI on the island.

Our full-time rota is a 4-day week (8.30 am to 6 pm) with a set day off each week, but there is always flexibility if needed. We provide our own out-of-hours, with a 1:4 on-call rota. Each consult fee goes directly to the vet on duty, and even though the OOHs are notoriously quiet, with an average of just 2.9 calls per week (including weekends) over the last six months, this still resulted in each vet earning an extra circa £5k last year!

All Pets Veterinary CentreAs you can see from our video, we’re a sociable team who love making the most of all that Jersey has to offer as the sunniest and warmest spot in the British Isles; from our sea swimming club, the ‘Blue-footed boobies’, chartering a rib for a trip around the islands to our legendary summer pool parties and Christmas meal at a Michelin starred restaurant, we’re always making plans to get together for some fun.

Living in Jersey offers a unique experience of rich countryside, breathtaking coastal views, sweeping beaches, and hidden bays. There is so much to do here, from outdoor sports to vibrant music and art festivals and outdoor film screenings. You can fly to Jersey from numerous UK airports, including Gatwick and Heathrow, in around 30 minutes or travel by ferry from Poole or Portsmouth. We also benefit from low tax rates compared to the mainland (a flat rate of 20% tax on net income and social security contributions at a rate of 6%).

We are offering:

  • A salary of £70,000 - £100,000
  • Five weeks holiday plus bank holidays (1 extra compared to the UK)
  • Your birthday off
  • Basic CPD budget of £1500 and 5 days, with certificates fully supported and funded
  • Professional fees paid for RCVS, Veterinary Defence Society and ISFM
  • Happy to offer sponsorship
  • Relocation package available
  • Private healthcare scheme
  • Company pension
