We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and motivated team in Knypersley, Staffordshire.

The practice is led by our Branch Partner and Lead Veterinary Surgeon Richard who is highly dedicated and has keen interest in dentistry and orthopaedics. You will also be fully supported by the rest of this experienced team which includes a Head RVN and Practice Manager.

The practice can provide digital x-ray, dental x-ray, inhouse blood analysers and ultrasound services, alongside Medivets unique hub and spoke model, allowing access to diagnostic equipment at our local 24-hour hospital including multi parameter, CT scanner, endoscope and a laparoscopic kit.
The practice has been working very hard towards gaining the ISFM cat friendly clinic registration.

Role accountabilities

  • Perform a wide range of consults, surgical procedures, dental and x-rays.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
  • Collaborate with the team to develop treatment plans
  • Utilise diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.
  • Prescribe medication.
  • Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.
  • Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices and preventative car
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to members of the support team.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies & procedures.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.

Skills and experience

  • Qualified MRCVS
  • 2 years’ experience in a small animal practice
  • Competent in clinical examination and surgery
  • Competent in working sole charge or as part of the wider team
