“We have a wonderful team, and they are a pleasure to work with. I am so proud of the service and excellent care that we provide at the practice.” Jo Day, Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon BVSc MRCVS

Proud owners of an ISFM Silver Certificate Cat Friendly Clinic award, RAW Silver Rabbit Friendly award, a Compassion Understood bronze award and SPVS wellbeing award 2019, our practice in Dudley is now seeking a Clinical Director to join our wonderful team.

This role is the perfect steppingstone for an experienced vet to progress into a leadership role and inspire the current team in this exciting new phase of growth, whilst being instrumental in the direction the practice takes.

The practice itself is purpose built with some great facilities including operating theatre, 3 dedicated consult rooms, large prep area, x-ray room and isolation block with separate cat and dog kennels.

We have all the equipment you’d expect from a solid GP practice and would be happy to discuss investing in additional equipment in the future, depending on your areas of interest. You’ll be working alongside practice owner and clinical lead Jo Day, as well as our full time newly qualified vet, an experienced part time vet and a four strong, experienced, and forward-thinking nursing team. Our clinical team our all supported by an incredible client care team lead by Sarah, our experienced Practice Manager.

Jo qualified from Bristol in 1996 and has worked locally ever since, now running her own mature practice with an ever growing and varied client base. Jo is proficient in and performs boas surgery on a regular basis, and the team also benefits from the support of a travelling orthopaedic surgeon.

Not only are we offering a great role focused on teamwork and your development, we are also fortunate enough to be conveniently situated within a short ride from beautiful countryside but still close enough to Birmingham to enjoy city life. We’re in a great location to access local amenities and transport links too.

As a relatively small team, we’re looking for a vet with great communication skills and solid GP experience in both medicine and surgery. Primarily though we’re looking for a new colleague who will get involved, enjoy the variety and camaraderie of practice life, and is dedicated to delivering an outstanding level of care to our patients and clients.

Our days are structured well with 15-minute consults as standard and time taken for breaks and lunch factored into the day, as well as a daily supply of toast!

Our opening hours are 8:30am until 7:00pm Monday to Friday, and we’re happy to consider part time hours that suit you, during these times. We’re not open on Sundays and have a great relationship with our out of hours provider, so with just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, we hope that all our team can enjoy a great work/life balance.

In return we can provide a supportive and welcoming environment, in addition to:

  • Salary up to £70,000, commensurate with experience
  • 5.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays, (increasing after 2 years’ service)
  • Private Health Care
  • Life Assurance 4 x Annual Salary

  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Dedicated CPD allowance
  • Funding and support towards Certificates available
  • Career progression
  • No OOH

  • Fully funded Sponsorship/Visa
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Access to Colleague Assistance Programmes – Retail Trust, Port of Call and MHFA
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards – including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room and Vet Group
