Job Details

Slough Vets4Pets has relocated and we are now looking for a vet to join our expanding team in our new practice!

Situated inside one of our new concept Pets at Home stores, our practice is designed to deliver not only the highest clinical standards - but also a pleasant working environment for the whole team.
Working alongside our skilled vet and nursing team, as well as a first-rate practice support team, our practice can offer you the environment, caseload and equipment needed to utilise the skills you have gained to date whilst also giving you plenty of opportunity to develop further, with support for postgraduate qualifications, CPD and training in your areas of interest.

We can build a full or part time work pattern to suit your commitments outside of work and can be as flexible as you need during the week. Weekends are on a rota basis with limited cover to keep it fair for everyone, and there’s no OOHs.

Ideally you should have small animal experience gained as a general practitioner, and great people skills. You will be comfortable with occasional sole charge but will also relish being part of a team, working towards the same vision of providing gold standard care to the local community and their pets.

Based on the Farnham Road in Slough, Berkshire, the practice has great transport links being located between the M4, M40 and the M25, and with local bus stops nearby. There is an excellent rail link into the centre of London. Onward links from there go to the rest of the country and the heart of Europe. Slough is also within a 10 minute drive of Heathrow Airport and is only 45 minutes drive from Gatwick Airport, making it the perfect location for get aways, or trips home during your time off.

Along with a salary of up to £65,000, we offer all the benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression and exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home). We’re also happy to provide Rental subsidies and relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if wanted (we’re an A+ rated sponsor).

So, if you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare, exceptional customer service and would like to join our team, then we would love to hear from you.

Pets just see people. And just like pets, we embrace everyone’s differences. We work to break down barriers, attract and develop diverse talent, and create a culture that allows everyone to be the best they can be.
Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our business. So if you think you’re a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, we’re waiting to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.

You can take a tour of our practice, and to find out more please contact Helen.Mcbeath@vets4pets.com or to apply visit www.vets4petscareers.com.

Location: SL1 4XB

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
