We’re an easy going, independent GDP registered practice looking for a vet with strong interests outside of work to motivate their work life balance and take advantage of a favourable rota and laid-back work environment.
The practice is well equipped and there is an emphasis on enjoying life that means you end up enjoying work too; everyone’s happier and more friendly. We’d like someone conscientious enough to continue the practice’s strong belief in kindness and fairness.
Everyone is free to pursue their own interests and work up their own cases but there's always advice and support if you want it. Self-motivation is desirable but people don’t tend to become vets without having that already!
We’re an 8 vet practice with 2 branches located about 4 miles apart. The practice day is well structured; no endless hours consulting all day. We get our lunch breaks and leave on time! Stroud was voted The Times best place to live in the UK with a mix of both rural and urban spaces and some funky bohemian undertones. Lots of rivers, hills, woods and views with an ice cream factory up the road.
The full-time rota averages 3.8 days a week. Daily mix of consulting, operating/investigating and time allocated to paperwork/calling clients. No on-call only a rota to look after stable inpatients.
- 2 days 8.30pm to 6.30pm
- 1 day 8.30am to 5pm
- Fridays 8.30am to 1pm
And (here’s the catch with the half day Fridays):
1 in 3 Fridays 1pm to 6.30pm and Saturdays 8.30am to 12.30pm
We'd also consider a part time role if they were able to share in the Friday evening/Saturday morning rota and do at least one evening shift 5 to 6.30pm a week.
- Salary from £40,000 to £65,000
- No on call
- 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
- CPD allowance and professional subscriptions paid
