Job Details

We have a very rare opportunity for an RVN to join our amazing team here at VetsforPets Dumbarton. If you are looking for a new opportunity to join an amazing team then this role is for you. We are also open to a newly qualified candidate too so please get intouch!

We are a small animal practice that opened in 2014 and have just grown exponentially ever since. We’re lucky to be a cohesive team, reflected in the awards won so far this year - practice of the year (won in April 2023, voted for by clients) and supportive practice of the year for our new graduate (won in June 2023).

We are currently a 6-vet practice, with 2 more vets joining us in January, the vet team is led by Ciara, our JVP, with 4 fantastic RVNs lead by our HRVN Hayley, 1 SVN, 3 VCAs, 3 receptionists and a great PM. We are an incredibly close-knit and stable team with quite a few of us working together for many years, and we are looking forward to welcoming a new colleague into our friendly team.

This is the first position we have advertised for an RVN other than our initial recruitment 9 years ago. We are currently going through a very vast and exciting expansion within the practice and feel now is the right time to grow our nursing team. We are also gaining some lovely state of the art equipment as well as a dedicated nurse room where we will be able to offer a variety of nurse clinics and services to our large client base. All of the RVN’s have a keen interest in various aspects of nursing clinics including cat friendly, diabetes management and nutrition clinics.

We are ideally looking for a full time RVN however part would be considered for the right person! Full time hours are 40 hours per week which will include Saturday and Sunday too in the rota and there are no OOH responsibilities. The salary range would be £23,000 to £28,000 depending on experience.

We are ideally looking for an experienced RVN to join the team however we are also open to a newly qualified RVN joining our amazing team.

Aside from the supportive and friendly environment, we can also offer contributory pension scheme, a generous CPD allowance which is strongly encouraged, paid memberships, exclusive company discounts and rewards including 20% off at VetsforPets, Pets at Home and Pets Grooming.

We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference so if you meet our role requirements, we’d love to hear from you.

Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
