The position involves the management of a wide and varied daily caseload. You will have hour-long consultations to fully discuss the options for treatment with the client, and the time to fully investigate as required. You will also provide support and friendly advice to our referring veterinary surgeons.
You will have access to advanced equipment including CT, MRI (currently visiting until installation), state-of-the-art ultrasound (including advanced portable bed-side ultrasonography), high resolution video endoscopy (bronchoscopy, gastroenteroscopy, cystoscopy and rigid endoscopy) and digital radiography. There is a fully equipped in-house laboratory and we also work closely with our reference laboratory to allow thorough case investigation. We have a chemotherapy suite and isolation facilities, and our anaesthetic equipment includes multiparameter monitoring, ventilator capability and a full array of syringe drivers and drip pumps.
The position is based on a 40-hour working week over four days, with 5 weeks holiday allowance plus bank holidays. You will also get a day’s holiday for your birthday. RCVS and VDS fees are paid, and we offer a generous CPD allowance. This is a unique position where you will have the opportunity to develop and focus your skills in areas that you are interested in. Further study and training are actively encouraged. We have planned future expansion, including MRI installation, fluoroscopy and further disciplines. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
We are now looking for a highly motivated and dynamic additional clinician in internal medicine (advanced practitioner or diploma holder) to work within our busy department on a full or part time basis. Our emphasis is on a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to working up cases. You will have support from a team of experienced clinicians in ophthalmology, oncology, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, and neurosurgery, with a close working relationship between the disciplines enabling smooth case management.
