Here at Axe Valley Veterinary Practice, we are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The position will include a range of Nursing responsibilities such as Nurse Clinics, Anaesthetics, Inpatient Care and Laboratory work. The role will involve working across multiple sites, but we can be flexible for the right candidate. Putting pets first is what we do, but we also extend this to our clients and colleagues. We even welcome your well-behaved dogs too!

Working up to 5 days per week, 9 hours per day which includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break, shift patterns ranging from 7:00am to 7:00pm . An attractive 1 in 8 weekend rota at our Blackford branch; 8:30am to 1:00pm Saturday and 8:30am to 10:30am on Sunday, both days include being on call until 7:00pm. Your weekend shifts are paid on top of normal hourly rate.

We have extensive diagnostic and clinical tools including endoscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography (including dental radiography), in-house laboratory and much more. You'll find us situated in the heart of the Somerset countryside, with plenty of dog walks directly from the door. Our Axe Valley family is spread over 5 branches in addition to Blackford we have Cheddar, Wells, Weston and Woolavington.

We are a supportive team made up of 10 Veterinary Surgeons (various certificate holders), 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 3 Animal Nursing Assistants and 18 Support Staff. The team takes great pride in the relationships they have built with their patients, clients, and the local community.

Axe Valley Veterinary Practice was founded in the Wedmore area in the 1950's moving to its present location in Blackford within the 1970's. We pride ourselves on our dedication to serving the local community in a friendly, personal and flexible way. Over the years we have expanded to cover a wide area of Somerset from Blagdon to Bridgwater with branch surgeries at Cheddar, Wells, Woolavington and most recently Bleadon.

Our Veterinary Practice provides a guaranteed high level of service with surgical and imaging facilities, complementary medicine and a full out-of-hours service covered by our own veterinary surgeons. All domestic species are treated - dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and more exotic species.
