This role would be ideal for a surgical certificate holder or someone with proven surgical ability who will be responsible for heading up and coordinating surgery within our veterinary hospital and across our branches.

Whether you need to do the school pick up, need reduced hours during school holidays or would simply like a more flexible rota pattern we can fix or flex our patterns to suit your needs. The full time hours for this role are 41 hours per week over either 4 or 5 days however we are open to both full and part time applicants. The practice is open from 8am to 7pm, we run an overlap service for emergencies-only for our clients at weekends, from when we close on a Saturday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and on a Sunday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This is based on a 1:6 rota. We are a host practice for Vets Now so no out-of-hours cover is required.

We have a fantastic friendly team of Vets, dedicated qualified Nurses, and Support Staff, with a wide range of interests. Our team includes Vets who are already certificate holders, or are working towards their qualifications, in surgery, medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology and advanced general practice. We have excellent surgical and medical facilities with separate dog and cat wards and boast a comprehensive kit list, both surgical and medical that you would expect from a hospital standard clinic. Some of the Nurses are also undertaking additional nursing qualifications including ECC and anaesthesia.
We are supported by a team of 4 Veterinary Care Assistant's and a team of dedicated Receptionists at each of our six clinics. We are a close-knit team and have regular social events, not only larger group events but small team get togethers. We have qualified mental health first aiders and wellbeing champions. We aim to work sustainably as possible and have a committed group of individuals striving to make improvements in this area. Our aim is to work collaboratively with a focus on continuous improvement.

Additionally, health insurance and enhanced maternity pay over and above statutory rates are provided. Being a host clinic for Vets Now, enables patient continuity and excellent patient support on-site. We are ideally located with options visit the coast for the day or jet off somewhere more exotic, as we are close to both the coast and Stansted airport.
If you fancy a trip into London, our local stations all have direct links to Liverpool Street within 40 mins. Closer to home we have the cities of Chelmsford and Colchester on your doorstop, or if a quieter pace of life appeals a variety of rural villages with very good pubs!
Are you the perfect fit?
This role would be ideal for a surgical certificate holder or someone with proven surgical ability who will be responsible for coordinating surgery within our veterinary hospital and across our branches. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the confidence to approach a full surgical caseload to include a range of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries. (Laparoscopic surgical experience is an advantage) with the desire to promote surgical excellence by providing support and training to our clinical team, from experienced vets to new graduates and nurses who are keen to support, develop and learn.
