Veterinary Surgeon
Mount Road Vets
Salary for the role is up to £70,000 FTE depending on experience, plus £5,000 relocation assistance

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Mount Road Vets!
You will be joining an experienced team with a high caseload in a well-established and respected veterinary practice in Manchester. We are in the fortunate position of being able to offer either full-time or part-time depending on your requirements and best of all the practice opens at 10am meaning you avoid rush hour traffic.

Full-time is 40 hours a week with no out-of-hours and 1:4 weekends consisting of a Saturday only. At Mount Road a collaborative environment is encouraged, with the opportunity to share resources with other local practices and facilitating full continuity of cases. There are sole charge elements to the rota so you must be comfortable with this.

About Us

Mount Road Vets are a long established, well-respected 1st opinion practice in the heart of the community within 4 miles of lively central Manchester. With a loyal client base you will have a varied mix of consults and surgery. We are able to offer a late start time and flexible rota. We have good facilities including a digital x-ray, ultrasound and in-house lab.
We are a small animal practice located very centrally in Manchester. We’re based in a terraced building with a very homely feel, within a lively city.

We’re fortunate to have very loyal clients, including some that have been coming here for over 40 years, and we work hard to deliver a service that's the best it can be, and that’s affordable for our clients. We are a big part of the community and are very proud of our reputation.

About the Team and Culture

One other vet, one RVN, 3 VCAs and a practice manager. Some of the team have been with the practice for over 10 years.
We’re located close to the city centre of Manchester which has a great deal to offer. Shopping, theatres, concert venues, entertainment and so many great places to eat! Within a short distance there are also great opportunities to enjoy the outdoors including parks and canal walks and also it is only a short drive to the Peak district.

Applicant Requirements

The ideal candidate will be RCVS registered, be competent in all routine surgeries and have sole charge experience. Team management or leadership experience would be an advantage. You will be an enthusiastic, passionate, patient, and caring individual who is interested and willing to promote and build the practice.

We are a small friendly Manchester Veterinary practice dedicated to treating your pets in the manner they deserve. Our practice was established on Hyde road in the sixties by Ted Gardner (now retired). Due to the Hyde road widening scheme, we moved to our present site, the old doctor’s surgery, in the late seventies.
