Job Details

Truly independent practice, where we value and support our team, where everyone has a voice and is listened to. Opportunity for a vet who enjoys providing gold standard care.

The Practice

A truly independent 4 vet practice, with just two directors. Innovative and forward thinking; laparoscopic spays are our norm. We enjoy working together to support and nurture vets, and equally enjoy learning from others.  We believe that work should be enjoyable and rewarding- we all spend enough hours there!  We work in a fast paced, fun but professional environment. We have an honest, open and importantly competitive pricing structure, you won’t feel uncomfortable about any of our charges.

Location

We are located in the market town of Longridge, the gateway to the Ribble Valley. With beautiful countryside on our doorstep, yet easy access to the M6. The Fylde coast is approximately 30 minutes drive away.

The Role

We are looking for a full-time or part-time vet. No out-of-hours. 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, consults only. We are happy to provide training and nurturing for a new/recent grad, or to work alongside a more experienced vet. We have an in-house training, competency and mentoring programme for new/recent grads. You’ll have all the usual toys, and you will be able to perform/learn laparoscopic spays. We have a fabulous support team.  You’ll never feel alone or undervalued.

Successful Candidate

Our ideal candidate would be a vet who really wants to become a long-standing valued member of our team. Someone who enjoys discussing cases with the other vets, and who enjoys throwing ideas/opinions off each other yet thrives on taking ownership of cases and working things up to ‘get to the bottom’ of a case.

The Package

CPD funding including travel and accommodation. Generous staff pet discount scheme.  Private health insurance (currently BUPA). Fully funded staff nights out, ad-hoc pub lunch rota, ad-hoc treats/tipples/gestures after those challenging days. Six weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

Renumeration to reflect that we value you and all that you do starting at £38,000 pa  for a new grad (based on a full-time vet (4 full days plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, increasing dependent on experience and skills.)

Company

The practice has been established for over forty years,  and has occupied the present building since 1989.  Andy Hutcheson ran the Practice for over 30 years, and in April 2014 Paul, who had worked for Andy for 3 years took over the Practice.

Our aim is to always provide the highest standards of veterinary care to our patients, and to meet the expectations of all our clients within a cheerful, caring, friendly and clean environment. To this end there is continual investment in equipment and training of vets, nursing and ancillary staff.  Our Veterinary team continuously strive to maintain their current knowledge and skills base, so that they can provide your pet with the most upto date treatments.

We set ourselves high standards to achieve and maintain.  The Veterinary and nursing team regularly meet to ensure that we are meeting these standards, keeping up to date with modern practice, and are achieving high standards of practice in line with the wider veterinary profession.

We are fortunate to occupy a fabulous  large site on a main road, which for you means that we have ample parking, and plenty of space inside the Practice for caring for your pet.
