Abbey Vets is a family run - non corporate practice in Barnsley is an experienced veterinary practice with more than 30 years experience in animal health care. We are specialists in all areas of pet care from vaccinations (including cat vaccinations and dog vaccinations) pet nutrition and weight control to animal acupuncture. We also operate as 24-hour emergency vets in Barnsley if a pet requires emergency treatment. Our emergency cover is offered 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

Abbey Vets is a family-run vets, started in 1975 by the current Principle Tony Duffy, who along with his Wife Sheila and Daughter Kim still run the practice. Starting as 'one vet, one receptionist' the practice has grown to 12 Vets, 21 Receptionists, 12 Nurses and 8 sites spread throughout Barnsley and North Sheffield. The main Barnsley Centre on Dodworth Road is extremely well equipped and is open 7 days a week providing a full 24-hour emergency service. The practice has been fully appraised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and has achieved the highest standard possible - Tier 2 (the only one higher is a Hospital).
